Meet Leo the Leopard (Tony)

Leo the Leopard or Leon as he is known here at the farm is a handsome chap that is ready to find a new home as a companion. He came in as part of a welfare group as the lead stallion and was gelded at Belwade Farm. As Leon was gelded later in life, he cannot live with mares but is happy to live over the fence from them. He gets along well with his field mates but is usually the most dominant horse in the field. Leon likes to watch over his herd and is brilliant at looking after our youngsters here at the farm. Unfortunately, Leon did not stand up to any form of ridden work due to lameness issues and is much happier as a non-ridden companion. He has an adorable character and is extremely affectionate. Due to his pink appaloosa skin he needs to wear a fly mask in the summer as he burns very easily. Leon is happy to live out full time but may need a turnout rug on during the winter in really bad weather. Although Leon is a bigger horse he still needs to watch his waistline and will need his weight monitored and the option of his grazing being restricted. Leon was quite reluctant to load but has improved greatly with lots of trailer practice with his groom so will now confidently load into a trailer and travels well. If you think you could offer Leon the loving new home that he deserves please apply online.
