By following a research-led and evidence-based approach to help guide our work, we are able to get to the heart of key welfare issues and identify the root causes of welfare problems. From our own research and investigations, to our undergraduate bursary scheme, from our collaborative funded research projects to our inhouse pilot projects, we are able to help improve and protect horse welfare at all levels.
We work in collaboration with academic institutions, researchers and organisations from across the equine sector to undertake research that helps us to better understand, as well as develop practical solutions, to real welfare issues, and vitally turn research findings into accessible advice and support for horse owners.

Funding and Grants
We support research into key equine welfare issues through a series of funding opportunities.

Our Research
The care we provide informs the research we support, working from our own experience or with academia to gather evidence of the causes of welfare challenges and how to address them.
