Meet Blackie

Blackie is ready to rehome as a non ridden companion. Blackie is a gentle soul, with a heart of gold, but finds busy environments quite overwhelming. We would love to find him a small, quiet, private yard where he would be able to predominantly live out, as he doesn't cope the best being stabled for longer periods of time. He doesn't need his weight overly watching, so would be best suited to living with equines of similar needs. He will happily mix with mares and geldings and currently lives out with shelter. He is good to catch with a treat, and is good to lead, handle and groom. He is good for the vet and farrier, but may just need a treat the first time he meets them. Blackie doesn't like being left on his own, so it is important he goes to a home where he will have company at all times. Once in a routine, Blackie will be your best friend, and he loves lots of attention. If you can offer this lovely boy a home, please apply online.

Important stuff

Blackie can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Blackie is not suitable to be worked.

History

Blackie originally came into Hall Farm in March 2009 he was one of 32 horses that were signed over as a welfare case. Blackie was entire on arrival.
