Meet The Minstral

Lovely gelding Minstral is now looking for a new home as a companion. Minstral is a very sweet and affectionate boy who just loves a cuddle and who would thrive in a home where he is part of the family. Though we aren’t looking for a ridden home for him, the perfect home for Minstral would be one where he is kept active with walks in hand or ride and lead to help with his weight management and enrichment. Minstral needs a gelding only home where he will be kept on very restricted grazing and where he will continue his weight loss. In the right home Minstral could learn to be left for short periods while his companion went riding and he could stable part time.

Important stuff

The Minstral can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that The Minstral is not suitable to be worked.

History

Minstrel came into our care as a welfare concern. He was being treated for laminitis and the owner was unable to manage the condition. Since being at World Horse Welfare Minstral's laminitis has been kept under control but he will always require restricted grazing and careful monitoring in the future.
