Meet Ant

Handsome Ant is now looking for a new home as a companion to other small ponies. Ant is very sweet natured and naturally very nosey so loves to know what's going on around the farm. He is very sociable with people and adores his friends so does get quite attached to them; he is unsuitable to be left alone. Ant does not have the conformation or temperament to be a child’s ridden pony but has lots to offer as a companion. He is extremely friendly and loves a pamper. Ant needs an experienced handler to help continue his education. He is great to catch and lead and is well behaved for the farrier. Ant can be a little timid of the vet so his groom has been doing some clicker training with him and he is becoming more confident with each vet visit. Ant is currently living out with a group of geldings and spends lots of time playing; he requires a turnout rug over the winter or in extremely wet weather. He is a good doer so will need his weight monitored and grazing restricted in the summer months so is best suited as a companion to other small ponies. If you think that this cute wee pony sounds right for you, please apply online.

Important stuff

Ant can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Ant is not suitable to be worked.

History

Ant came into World Horse Welfare care as part of a large welfare case. He was unhandled on arrival and very scared. He has since been out at a home.
