Meet Popcorn

Little popcorn is now looking for her new home as a youngster, alongside her friend Peanut. Both donkeys were born here on the farm just a couple months apart and have since taken their confidence from one another, although Popcorn is the more confident of the two. She is very good to catch and will do anything for a treat. She behaves well for the vet and only needs a few sweeties sometimes to keep her still for the farrier. As little Popcorn developed, we noticed that she had poor confirmation of her feet and stability in her front legs. Due to this we introduced her to some physio exercises and pole work to try and help build her strength. After a couple of months of physio and consistent trims by our farrier, we are now happy with where she is at and feel she is a lot stronger in front. Due to her history Popcorn will need her feet trimmed on a strict schedule to allow her to maintain that stability in both legs and feet, as her body grows. Peanut and Popcorn are paired so they will be looking for a home together. We would like their home to also have older donkey’s or horses to help continue their socialisation and allow them to be shown boundaries by the older generation. When we say the donkeys are paired and like to do everything together, we really mean they like to do everything together. If one rolls the other rolls, if one talks the other talks, if one poops in one spot the other also poops in the same spot. They are also very good to handle together and they are never seen apart in the field. As Popcorn had to go and do some pole work, she is now used to being taken away from Peanut, but they don’t like to be separated for too long. If you think you can offer Popcorn and her pal Peanut a home, please apply online.
