Meet Budgie

Budgie is ready to rehome as a non ridden companion. Budgie is a friendly and inquisitive chap, who has come a long way since arriving with us in late 2023. He was completely unhandled and entire on arrival and his groom has worked hard to gain his trust and build up his confidence. He has come on immensely in his time with us and is good to catch, handle, groom, bath and for the vet and farrier. His ideal home would be with an experienced rehomer who has an interest in doing in-hand or agility work as we think Budgie would benefit from continued ground work. He has recently been out to a local show to take part in a couple of in-hand classes and was incredibly well behaved for his first time out. Budgie still shows too much interest in mares so can only be turned out with geldings, but can go in a field next to mares. He gets on well with others and can be quite playful in the field. Budgie needs his weight watching, so a home with equines of similar needs would be ideal. He doesn't like being left on his own, so will need the company of another equine at all times. Important stuff

Budgie can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Budgie is not suitable to be worked.

History

Budgie came into Penny Farm within a large group. He was completely unhandled and entire.
