Meet Capri

Capri has a really sweet temperament, although she tends to be a bit of a worrier and quite nervous. She can be tricky to catch so patience and perseverance will be required with any rehomer. Despite her basic insecurities, she is a friendly girl and quite trusting once she has formed a bond. Capri has a willing nature and in a regular routine where she feels secure her true personality should shine through. Capri is generally good to handle and will blossom in a quiet environment with a patient and calm person. She gets on well with others in her herd as she tends to avoid squabbles and keep out of trouble. Capri will make a good companion to a ridden horse as she has the potential to stay alone in the field for short periods if her buddy is taken out to be exercised. This would need to be introduced gradually into her routine in a new home. Now in her mid teens, Capri deserves to find her forever home where she can relax and put her past troubles behind her.

Important stuff

This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.

Capri can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Capri is not suitable to be worked.

History

Capri came into our care after a large number of horses was found in a welfare situation.
