Meet Petal

Petal is a cute little girl but due to her age can understandably be anxious at times. She is still very much a baby so routine and regular handling will be key to building her trust and confidence. An experienced handler with an interest in young horses would be ideal. Petal looks to her companions for reassurance and will hang back to let her field mates check out anything new before being unable to resist investigating herself! Petal is a very bright little pony and a quick learner but can be easily distracted. She will benefit from consistent handling to hep her continue her education. Petal may have the potential to be backed as a lead rein pony but not before she is at least 5 years old. Petal is unlikely to reach more than 11.2hh when mature which would give her a maximum rider weight limit of 3.5 to 4 stones. She would be equally happy to remain as a non ridden companion to others with similar dietary requirements.
Important stuff
This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.
Petal could be worked in the future.
History
Petal was a signed over prosecution case with 3 other ponies.
